Responding to Wes’s Story

I read your story and it brought to mind a friend’s situation. She has a grand-daughter who is trans. I don’t know if there is any church connection—I rather doubt it, but the family has certainly experienced rejection by friends and their family. One set of grandparents is not accepting nor supportive, and apparently continues to make rude and hurtful comments directly to the grand-daughter and her family.

To me it points out the importance of being supportive and inclusive—keeping lines of communication open—showing support and unconditional love—in our families, our church families, our community, our country, our world.
