I am moved to advocacy

As an ally, to hear the stories, stories that touch me, beyond the ‘head’, in my heart… I am moved to advocacy. I continue to realize that I am not in the story in the way I would be had I lived the years in the United Church since 1988 as a part of the LGBTQ community. My continuing focus in advocacy work I do is that I am not simply trying to “do good”, but rather acting as a true advocate in solidarity with the LGBTQ community to help move people in the United Church to truly celebrate people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

It is my privilege to journey with ministries in the Affirming Process—a journey of deep commitment to something very worthwhile! I am grateful to have been invited to do this as an ally.
